There is just something magical about spring. Maybe it’s the fact that you can be outside for more than five minutes without freezing or that the hours of light are longer or the colorful flowers popping up all over the place. Who knows.
Robin Williams had it right when he said said “Spring is nature’s way of saying let’s party.”
So naturally, with the weather finally being warm enough to be outside for a few minutes, I threw a party to celebrate spring.

But be warned, you may be laughing too hard to actually get through all of them.

How to Play these Easter Games
There are a couple of different ways you can play these games.
For groups of six or under – Play the games Minute to Win It style where you have each person play each of the games, all at the same time. Players try to be the first to complete each game.
For groups of more than six – Split your group into equally sized teams (i.e., split into teams of six or teams of four depending on how many people you have). For each game, have each team send up a representative from their team to play the game and the team representatives will compete against each other to be the first one to complete each game.

How to Keep Score for These Spring Games
You can either just give the winning team one point for each game they win or if you want to make it a little more fair, you can give the winning team five points, 2nd place three points, and third place, one point.

If you’re playing an individual competition, you can either have a winner per game or keep score across all the games for one big winner at the very end!
Instructions for these Easter Party Games
#1 – Egg Hunt Relay
Supplies Needed:
- Plastic Easter eggs (optional – in various colors)
How to Play:
Hide plastic eggs like you would for an Easter egg hunt , making sure there are enough eggs hidden for each player playing.
Line each team up in a straight line. The first player on each team must run to the designated area, find an egg, and return to their team.
The next player must do the same, continuing until every person on the team has found an egg.
The first team to have every player find an egg (or the first team to find a certain number of eggs if team numbers aren’t even) wins!
Note – You can either fill the eggs if you’re not doing an Easter egg hunt or doing candy of any kind or just use empty plastic eggs as part of the game instead. Just make sure the players know they’re empty or you’ll have a lot of disappointed people.
Upgrade for Older Kids/Adults:
To make it more challenging, give each team an assigned color of egg, a pattern to find, or even eggs with a particular sticker (like one person has to find all stars, one person has to find hearts, etc.).
When they go egg hunting, they have to find an egg only within their assigned color/pattern/etc. and bring it back. If you’re doing multiple colors per team, buy a pack of eggs like this that have plenty of a handful of colors of eggs!

#2 – It’s Popsicle Time
Supplies:
How to Play:
Give each player a little cup filled with Jelly Belly beans and a popsicle stick .
When the game starts, players must put the popsicle stick in their mouth and then add Jelly Belly Beans to it until they are balancing six Jelly Belly Beans on the popsicle stick to win.
Downgrade for Younger Kids:
This game is a bit on the tougher side for younger kids. Instead of doing six jelly beans, see if they can get two balancing to win.
#3 – Don’t Spring Break (Two Player Game)
Supplies:
How to Play:
This game is played like a water balloon toss but with filled Easter eggs.
Have one player from each team line up in a horizontal line then have their teammate stand facing them in a parallel line. Give each team a plastic egg filled with Jelly Belly beans .
One teammate will toss the egg to the other teammate and they must catch it without breaking it. If they drop the egg or break the egg and spill the jelly beans out of it, they are out.
After each toss, one of the teammates must take a step back and they toss again. The last team to drop the egg wins.
Downgrade for Younger Kids:
Instead of using a plastic egg with jelly beans inside, use foam eggs like these instead.
If they catch it, they take a step back and toss again. If they drop it, they stay where they’re at. Whoever catches it once is a winner! Or better yet, they’re all winners for participating!
#4 – Spring Cleaning
Supplies Needed:
- Small bowls
- Jelly beans in five different colors (e.g., red, purple, blue, green, and orange) – all mixed together
- Five clear plastic cups per player
How to Play:
Give each player a bowl full of five different colored Jelly Belly beans such as red, purple, blue, green, and orange, making sure everyone has the same exact number of jelly beans. Place the five cups per player around them in a circle.
Players must sort the cup of jelly beans by picking out one Jelly Belly bean at a time and then placing it in one of the cups, designating that cup for only that color.
First player to sort their jelly beans into the five cups first wins.
Downgrade for Younger Children:
Instead of giving them different cups to sort into, just give them a box or a table to sort onto. They still have to sort them but you can take out all of the moving around to make the game go a bit quicker.

#5 – Let’s Play Ball
Supplies Needed:
- Table
- Bottles
- Foam baseball (this makes it a bit harder on purpose)
How to Play:
Stack the bottles on top of each other so you have a pyramid with three at the bottom, two in the middle, and one on the top.
Players must stand behind a line and toss baseballs to knock a stack of bottles completely off a surface using just the baseball, like the popular carnival game .
If you’re playing with younger kids, they can stand closer and just knock the tower down, not off the table.
Upgrade for Older Kids/Adults:
Make things more challenging by blindfolding the player. Just make sure no one else is anywhere near the tossing area.
If you blindfold them, I also recommend giving them a partner to give instructions on where to throw.
#6 – Spoon Full of Sugar
Supplies Needed:
- Jelly Belly beans
- Plastic spoons
- Large bowl
- Small Dixie Cups
How to Play:
Fill a bowl completely full of Jelly Belly beans . Set the bowl on a table on one side of the room.
Give each team a spoon and a small cup. Players must transfer Jelly Belly beans from the bowl to the fill their small cup using only the provided spoon, which must be in the player’s mouth anytime it is touching the jelly beans.
Upgrade for Older Kids/Adults:
Set the cups up on a table on the other side of the room. Players have to get jelly beans in their spoon then walk to the other side of the room with the spoon (and jelly beans) in their mouth.
No running for safety reasons!
Take the jelly beans to the other side and use them to fill their cup. Keep going until the cup is filled.
#7 – Spring Up
Supplies Needed:
How to Play:
Players must keep three spring colored balloons up in the air. If players can keep them up for more than a minute, start adding an extra balloon per 30 seconds until someone gets out.
If it’s too tough, have them try again with two balloons.
Downgrade for Younger Kids:
Play the same game but only give them one balloon to keep up.
#8 – Spring Fling
Supplies Needed:
How to Play:
Connect the ends of the silk flowers to the ends of actual metal springs (coils), testing to make sure the flowers bounce.
Give each player a flower with a spring attached and a little cup of Jelly Belly beans.
Players put one of the Jelly Belly Beans in the middle of the spring loaded flower and then must push the spring down to make the Jelly Belly Bean spring up.
You can either play the first person to catch five of their own sprung Jelly Belly beans or you can have them spring the Jelly Belly beans to a teammate.
Either way, it’s pretty hilarious.
Upgrade for Older Kids/Adults:
Play this as a team game. One person springs the flowers up to the other person who tries to catch them.
The jelly beans tend to go all over the place so it’s funny to watch!
#9 – Swing Into Spring
Supplies Needed:
How to Play:
Give a member of each team a small bouquet of fake silk flowers . Another member of the team must toss a plastic Easter egg from a designated “pitching” line, and the first player must try to hit the egg with the flowers (like baseball).
The first player to hit and crack open five plastic eggs with the flowers wins.
Downgrade for Younger Kids:
Move the “pitching” line closer, let kids toss the eggs up to themselves, or let them hit the eggs off of a plastic pitching tee .
#10 – Puddle Jumper
Supplies Needed:
- Empty water bottles
- Jelly Beans
How to Play:
Give each team two water bottles , one completely filled with Jelly Belly beans and the other completely empty.
Players must transfer all of the Jelly Belly beans from one water bottle to the other.
If they drop Jelly Belly beans on the ground, they have to put the ones that dropped back in the bottle they started in and keep going.
First player to transfer all jelly beans wins.
Upgrade for Older Kids/Adults:
Make it a two player game. Have one person hold the empty bottle while the other person is transferring the jelly beans.
Or use empty 2-liter soda bottles with jelly beans and a piece of tape connecting the two bottles (like in this baby shower game ) instead.
#11 – Sweet as Spring
Supplies Needed:
How to Play:

Pick out 3-4 spring Jelly Belly bean recipes from this list such as strawberry shortcake, fruit salad, and berry smoothie. Give each team a bowl full of Jelly Belly beans that includes the necessary Jelly Belly beans for the chosen recipes AND other Jelly Belly beans .
In addition to the bowl of Jelly Belly beans, give each team a recipe card that has just the names of the flavors (not the pictures) for each recipe they have to “make.”
When you say go, teams must put together the correct Jelly Belly bean combinations for the chosen recipes by tasting the Jelly Belly beans in the provided bowl.
First team to make all of the recipes wins.
Downgrade for Younger Kids:
Give them cards with jelly bean pictures on them instead of words. This makes it much easier and will hopefully keep them from just eating all the jelly beans!
#12 – Spring Fever (Two Players)
Supplies Needed:
How to Play:
Give each team a chilled wash cloth . Have the players stand across from each other, about 10 feet apart – just like in the egg toss above.
One teammate must toss the chilled wash cloth onto the other’s forehead to “cool” their spring fever.
First team to get the chilled wash cloth to stay on their teammate’s forehead (without the teammate’s help), wins.
Upgrade for Older Kids/Adults:
Give each team two wash cloths, one per player. Teams must be the first to get one wash cloth in place on each player’s head.
Players can toss at the same time or different times but once a wash cloth is landed on one player’s head, it must stay there while they’re tossing!
If a wash cloth falls off when they’re tossing to their teammate, they must give it back to their teammate and have it tossed and get it to land again.

Great Prize Ideas for These Easter Games
If you’re playing the games to have either one or two individual winners, you’ll want to get something that’s a big more exciting for the prize. If you’re doing something where an entire team wins, you’ll want to stick with something on the less expensive side.
