Ramen noodle recipes sure have come a long way since the days I was eating them straight out of the package to save money during college. Back then my only choice in ramen noodles was whether I was going to eat them dry or if I was going to cook them and use the included spice packet.

I was always an eat the noodles dry kind of girl. Still am on the days I’m feeling nostalgic and decide to spend the whole 20 cents on that infamous orange package.

This pork ramen recipe tastes nothing like the packaged ramen noodles I used to eat. While those tasted like budget food people ate because it’s what they could afford, these pork ramen noodles taste like something you’d actually pay good money for at an Asian restaurant.

I’ve got to give the credit to my husband for the recipe, he’s the flavor pro in our family and knocked this one out of the park. And the best part is that once you’ve got a good broth recipe – making the perfect ramen noodles is all about your taste and what toppings you want to add in.

Easy Pork Ramen Noodles

The key to a good bowl of ramen noodles is making a delicious broth. This broth actually starts with a bit of ghee (aka clarified butter) and then you add in a whole bunch of fresh and ground spices like ginger, garlic, cloves, etc. and then cook until that ghee becomes fragrant.

Then you add in your liquids like coconut aminos, fish sauce, water, and drippings from your pork and boil.

Let the bone broth combine with the rest of the broth then finally add your ramen noodles and cook according to your package instructions. I’ll include the ramen noodles we used in the recipe below, but you can really use any ramen noodles you want and still have one delicious dish.

Top your ramen noodles with any variety of toppings. We used ghee soaked mushrooms, spiced and roasted acorn squash, julienned carrots and zucchini, our favorite kalua pork and garnished with cilantro and crushed cashews.
