Red White and Blue Desserts

With 4th of July right around the corner, I though it’d be fun to share a couple of recipes for some delicious red, white, and blue desserts as well as a collection of other desserts from my favorite food bloggers! These would go perfect with these 4th of July party ideas !

Because what’s better about 4th of July than all sorts of red, white, and blue food?

You could eat red, white, and blue food all day long – starting with this very berry smoothie bowl!

Red White and Blue Popsicle Recipe

Okay so these aren’t your traditional popsicles. If you’re looking for more traditional popsicles, I recommend these blue lemonade popsicles instead!

These are pudding popsicles – made from different colors of pudding. They’re creamy, refreshing, and delicious!

All you need is:

  • Strawberry pudding
  • Vanilla pudding
  • Blue food coloring
  • Dixie cups
  • Popsicle sticks

They’re super simple to make and the kids loved them!

1 – Make your pudding, keeping all three colors separate.

2 – Spoon a layer of each color pudding into a small dixie cup (I used 5 ounce cups).

3 – Add a popsicle stick or ice cream spoon to the top of the pudding cup and freeze. I like to put the cups in muffin tins to freeze so they don’t move around as much.

4 – Once they are frozen solid, tear the cups off of the pudding pops and enjoy.

Red White and Blue Star Pops

Another fun treat to make is these star cookie sandwich pops.

One of my favorite things ever is a good ice cream sandwich, but they tend to melt quickly and make a mess. These pudding cookie sandwiches are perfect because the pudding doesn’t melt nearly as fast, and it still gives you that cold creamy flavor.

And I turned them into pops using striped straws because kids love anything on a stick. You could make them just cookie sandwiches but stars on striped straws remind me of fireworks, so do that.

All you need for these pudding pops is:

  • Vanilla pudding
  • Sugar cookies (use your favorite recipe)
  • Striped straws
  • Parchment paper

These star pudding pops are really easy to make.

1 – Make your favorite sugar cookies and use food coloring to dye half the dough red and half the dough blue.

2 – Cut the cookies into star shapes (not too big or they’ll fall off the sticks) and bake according to the recipe instructions.

3 – Once the cookies are cooled, put a dollop of white vanilla pudding on the back of one of the cookies, put a straw into the pudding, and put another cookie on top and press lightly.

4 – Put onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and put in the freezer for a few hours to allow the pudding to freeze.

5- Serve frozen right from the freezer.
