Valentine’s Day Family Feud is the perfect addition to any Valentine’s Day party! With unique questions and answers related to Valentine’s Day, this game is one that the whole family will love.

Valentine’s Day Family Feud

I’m a big fan of game shows and Family Feud is one of my favorites – mostly the classic ones but even the newer celebrity ones are okay.

A few years ago I made a Christmas Family Feud game that was a huge hit and last year I continued the trend with these Halloween Family Feud questions and answers !

I had one of my readers ask me to make Family Feud questions for Valentine’s Day because she had so much fun with the other two games – so here you go!

Family Feud Supplies

One of the reasons I love Family Feud so much is that it only takes a few minutes to setup, and you only need a few things to play! Here’s all you need for a full game!

And one note – most of these things are used to make the game boards. I’ll explain how I made them in this post, but you can make them however you want as well! The only real thing you need are the questions and answers.

• Valentine’s Day Family Feud Questions (get them at the bottom of this post)
• Poster board
• Construction paper or colored cardstock
• Sharpie
• Scotch tape
• Game buzzer

How to Make Family Feud Question Boards

This is how I make the question boards because we play often, and I don’t want to have to spend too much time making the boards.

1 – Write down the questions and answers (with their corresponding scores) on a piece of poster board.

2 – Cut out evenly sized strips of colored paper. I typically fold the paper prior to cutting it so that the strips are even.

3 – Tape the strips of paper over top of the answers. (You can cover the question too if you’d like, I typically just don’t.) Make sure to use regular tape rather than double-sided tape or you’ll end up ripping off your answers like I did in our Halloween Family Feud game.

4 – Write the number of the answers on top of the colored strips of paper. This will help you remember which answer is under each of the strips.

You can skip this step but I’m warning you, it’s hard to remember or count correctly in the heat of the moment. I’ve been known to pull off the wrong strip when I don’t do this!

How to Play Valentines Family Feud

Family Feud is best played with a small group of people, typically like 10-12 works best, but you can play it with more if you want – just have larger teams.

Split your group into two teams and have teams go on opposite sides of the room.

1 – Face Off

To start each round, have one person from each team come to the front of the room for a head to head face off.

Ask the two players the question (e.g., name a popular valentine’s day gift) and whoever hits the buzzer gets the chance to answer first.

If they guess the top answer on the board their team gets to choose whether or not to pass or play the question.

If they do not guess the top answer, the other person in the face-off gets five seconds to guess another answer to try and get the top answer.

Whoever gets the answer highest on the board gets to choose whether their team will pass or play the question.

2 – Let’s Play

If a team decides to play a question, ask the next person on their team the same question and they have to try and get one of the answers on the board.

If they get an answer, remove the paper strip and show it (do this during the face-off as well).

Continue asking members of that team for answers. If they answer something that is not on the board, their team gets an X!

3 – Stealing a Question

If the team at any point gets three X’s, the question goes over to the other team for a chance to steal. The other team has one guess to try and get one of the remaining answers on the board.

If they get an answer on the board, they steal the question and the points for the question. If they guess wrong, the original team playing the question gets the points.

4 – Play More Rounds

Before the game, choose how many questions you’re going to play. I typically like to do one round per person on the team. So if you have five players, do five questions so everyone gets a chance to do a face-off.

For the second round, have the next players on the team come up and do a face-off and go through the exact same process as outlined above until you’ve gone through all of your regular round questions.

5 – Scoring Family Feud

In the question and answer sheet you can download in this post, I’ve included both the list of answers and a number next to it. This is the percentage of people that gave that answer out of the 500 people I asked. This is also the point value for each answer.

If you use all the questions for each round (see notes under the download the valentine’s day family feud game about questions and answers), there are a total of 100 points possible. If someone got all of the answers on the board, they’d potentially get 100 points.

If they only could get six of the answers on the board (out of 8), they only score the points for the answers turned over.

You can also increase the number of points possible as you continue with the game. For instance,

• Rounds 1 and 2 are regular points
• Rounds 3 and 4 are double points
• Round 5 is triple points

At the end of all of the rounds, whichever team has the most total points wins the game and has the option to go to fast money (if you do fast money).

6 – Play Fast Money

Before the game, pick five questions you want to use for fast money. No need to make boards for those questions – just make sure you have the list of answers and points printed out or available.

Have the winning team pick two players from their team to play fast money.

Send the first person on the team out of the room and ideally put on noise cancelling headphones.

Ask the second person on the team the five fast money questions (they can only give one answer). They have twenty seconds total to answer each question but can pass and come back to one if they’re stumped.

Once they’re done, go through the scores for the player with the team (other than the teammate in the other room).

Have the other teammate come back in and do the same thing except they get an extra ten seconds for a total of 30 seconds. If the player provides the same answer as their teammate, buzz them and tell them to try again.

Once they’ve gone through all five questions – total up the points from both teammates and if they get to 200 total points, they win fast money and some sort of special prize on top of whatever other prize you might have for them.
